How much do we save when vaping?
At present there are many unknowns about the electronic cigarette from many sectors: Can we smoke in public places?, is it harmful to our health?, Why is it so successful?, etc. but if something nobody doubts about it, is how much money do we save instead of smoking traditional cigarettes.
It was always said that smoking is very harmful to our health and it is also expensive, and it is quite true. Besides how harmful for our body is (there is widespread evidence that cigarettes are), it is also for our pocket. If we take the example of a person who smokes a pack of snuff per day and calculate how much does he spend in a year, we get the following results: € 4,75/pack x 365 days/year = € 1,733.75 per year.
These results increase every year as the government tends to increase taxes from snuff in a greater way than the cost of life.
If we compare it with the expenses of a vaper , we see that the comparison has no sense. A mean vaper, consumes a bottle of 50ml of e-liquid every 3 weeks. If we consider that Enspirar sells a 50 ml bottle at € 6.50, we obtain the following expenditure on e-liquids after one year: € 6.50/liquid / 3 weeks = € 2.16/week. If these multiply these € 2.16/week by 52 weeks we get € 112.66.
So a medium vaper spends € 112.66 in liquids per year. To this amount we could you add 6 batteries/year (€ 8 each) and the investment of a kit, which would be about € 20. The total expenditure would be € 112.66 + (6 batteries x 8 €) + kit (20 €) = € 180.66.
That is, a vapear spends € 180.66 per year, while a smoker spends € 1,733.75. In other words, a vaper saves € 1,553.09 per year for a traditional smoker or a traditional smoker spends almost 10 times more than a vaper.
We see therefore that there is no parallel between the cost of a smoker and a vaper. There is no discussion possible in this field to determine that vaping is infinitely cheaper than smoking.
Besides from these savings, you can vape in many public places and its harmful effects on our body are a priori much milder (or safe) than traditional cigarettes, So there are no reasons for the market to continue growing and gaining more and more customers. Moreover if we consider that the price of electronic cigarettes has been decreasing since they made their appearance in the market due to the increase of productivity. When a product is first released to the market, has a fairly high cost of manufacture, but as production grows, its marginal cost goes down. The more quantity produced, the lower the cost per unit. It is for this reason that the price of electronic cigarettes, if the market continues to grow, will gradually fail.
